Why patients choose a pharmacy that sees them
Many online services prescribe from a form alone. We always talk to you first, face to face on video, so your treatment starts with a plan you understand.
How it works
Four steps from your first question to treatment arriving at your door.
-
Answer a few questions
Our free online consultation takes about five minutes. It checks your BMI and health history so we know the service is safe for you.
-
Meet your prescriber on video
We'll contact you within one working day to book a video call. You'll talk through your goals, your health and the options with a registered prescriber.
-
Treatment delivered free
If treatment is right for you, it's dispensed by our pharmacy in Wallasey and sent in plain, tracked packaging at no extra cost.
-
Guidance all the way
We check in as your plan progresses, answer questions along the way and help you plan for keeping the weight off.
Could our service help you?
Our clinical weight management service is for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure or pre-diabetes.
This check is a guide only. Your prescriber makes the final decision at your consultation.
A weight management service built around you
Losing weight is rarely just about willpower. Our pharmacists and nurses look at the whole picture: your health, your history and what you want to achieve. Then they agree a plan with you.

Lasting weight loss takes a plan and people to support it. Here's what the year usually looks like.
-

Making progress
Regular check-ins keep you on track. Your prescriber reviews your progress with you and adjusts your plan to suit you, rather than following a fixed schedule.

Keeping it off
We help you plan what comes next and keep the habits that worked, so the progress you've made lasts.
Common questions
Can't find your answer? Email us at weightloss@victoriacentralpharmacy.co.uk.
Does the consultation cost anything?
No. The online consultation and the video consultation with your prescriber are both free. You only pay for treatment if your prescriber recommends it and you decide to go ahead. Delivery is free too.
Why do you insist on a video consultation?
We think weight management should start with a proper conversation. On the call your prescriber can check your details, talk through your health and goals, and explain your options. If treatment is recommended, they'll show you how to use it. It also lets us confirm your weight and identity, which is part of prescribing safely.
Who can use the service?
Adults aged 18 to 69 with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes or sleep apnoea. Some conditions mean an online service isn't suitable, such as diabetes, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a history of eating disorders or pancreatitis. If that applies to you, we'll point you to your GP.
Who will I speak to?
A registered pharmacist or nurse independent prescriber from our clinical team. Our prescribers are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
How quickly will my treatment arrive?
We'll contact you within one working day to book your video consultation. Once your prescriber approves treatment, it's dispensed by our pharmacy and sent by free tracked delivery in plain packaging. Anything that needs to stay cold is packed to keep it cool.
